Lord's to host final as ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 venues get announced

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 final will be played on July 5 at the Lord’s.
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the venues for the forthcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The iconic Lord’s in London will host the final of the ICC tournament. A total of seven venues will host the entire tournament in England including the Lord’s.
The six other venues are Old Trafford, Headingley, Edgbaston, Hampshire Bowl, The Oval and Bristol County Ground. Notably, the Women’s T20 WC 2026 will be the tenth edition of the ICC tournament. It commenced in 2009 when England hosted the event for the first time. England Women won the inaugural edition by crushing New Zealand Women in the final. The encounter also took place at the Lord’s in London.
Notably, England will host the Women’s T20 World Cup for the second time after 2009. The previous edition of the tournament took place in United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2024. New Zealand Women crushed South Africa Women in the final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium to clinch the title for the first time.
Lord’s to host ICC WC final hosted by England for third consecutive time
Interestingly, this is the third consecutive time that Lord’s will host an ICC World Cup final hosted by England. It also hosted the finals of ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2017 and ICC Men’s ODI World Cup in 2019. Both tournaments were also won by England teams.
“The confirmation of venues represents a defining moment as we build towards the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. This tournament will bring together the world’s finest players in a celebration of skill, spirit and sportsmanship,” International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Jay Shah said in an official statement.
A total of 12 teams will battle with each other during ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The tournament will commence on June 12 and will witness the final on July 5 next year. England Women’s team has already qualified for the ICC tournament being the hosts.
A total of 30 games will be played during the ICC tournament. The 12 teams will be divided into two groups of six teams each. The top two teams from each group will reach the semi-finals. Notably, India Women have never won the title yet. They will aim for their first-ever Women’s T20 World Cup trophy next year.
