Only once a team has got bowled out under 50 in T20I Asia Cup history.
The Asia Cup is one of the most entertaining multi-national cricket tournaments, which has been played regularly since the first edition in 1984. The tournament over the years has observed a thrilling clash between cricketing giants in the Asian subcontinent.
In 2016, the Asia Cup was played in T20I format for the first time, when it was decided that the format of the tournament will be played according to the subsequent year’s Cricket World Cup. So far, three editions of the tournament in 2016, 2022, and 2025 have followed T20I format. While many games have registered mammoth team totals in the T20I Asia Cup over the years, there were a few games where teams completely flopped with the bat.
If we look at the lowest team totals in the T20I Asia Cup, a total of less than 100 was registered on six occasions. Moreover, one team also registered a total of lesser than 50 runs once. On that note, let’s take a look at the top five lowest team totals in T20I Asia Cup.

5. Pakistan – 83/10 vs India (Asia Cup 2016)
Surprisingly, Pakistan grab the fifth spot on this list. The Men in Green were bowled out for just 83 runs in a clash against arch-rivals India in Asia Cup 2016 in Mirpur. After being asked to bat first, Pakistan came up with one of their worst batting shows in the tournament’s history.
Sarfaraz Ahmed top-scored with a knock of 25 runs as Pakistan faced a humiliating batting collapse, losing eight batters for single digits. Hardik Pandya clinched three wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja got two wickets in the encounter.
During the chase, India also suffered a big blow, losing both openers, Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, for ducks, and Suresh Raina for one, to find themselves reeling at 3/8. However, Virat Kohli (49 runs off 51 balls) helped the team chase down the target by five wickets with his patient knock.
4. UAE – 82/10 vs Bangladesh (Asia Cup 2016)
During Asia Cup 2016, the UAE registered a low total of just 82 runs in a clash against Bangladesh at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. After being asked to bat first, Bangladesh posted 133/8 on account of Mohammad Mithun’s 47 and Mahmudullah’s 36*.
Later, Mustafizur Rahman, Mashrafe Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan, and Mahmudullah shared two wickets each to bundle out the UAE for just 82 runs, winning the encounter by 51 runs. Taskin Ahmed and Al-Amin Hossain took the remaining two wickets. Muhammad Usman scored a decent knock of 30 runs for the UAE, but their batting collapsed like a pack of cards.
3. UAE – 81/9 vs India (Asia Cup 2016)
UAE also grab the third spot on this list with another low total, which came during Asia Cup 2016. During the 9th match of the tournament against India, the UAE elected to bat first after winning the toss. Shaiman Anwar scored an impressive knock of 43 runs; however, the rest of the batters failed.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked two wickets for India, while five other bowlers got one scalp each. The UAE could only reach 81/9 in 20 overs. Later, India chased down the target like a walk in the park, with an opening stand of 43 runs between Rohit Sharma (39) and Shikhar Dhawan (16*).
2. UAE – 57/10 vs India (Asia Cup 2025)
During their opening game against India in Asia Cup 2025, the UAE were bowled out for just 57 runs in the first innings. India won the toss and opted to bowl first in the encounter. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav clinched a fabulous four-wicket haul to dominate the opposition, while Shivam Dube clinched three scalps.
Openers Alishan Sharafu (22) and Muhammad Waseem (19) were the only batters to score in double digits for UAE, while the rest of the players failed to score more than three runs. During the chase, Abhishek Sharma (30) and Shubman Gill (20*) helped India to register a record victory in just 4.3 overs with nine wickets in hand.
1. Hong Kong- 38/10 vs Pakistan (Asia Cup 2022)
Hong Kong own the humiliating record for the lowest total in T20I Asia Cup history. During a clash against Pakistan in the 2022 edition, Hong Kong were bowled out for just 38 runs. After being asked to bat first, Pakistan posted a mammoth total of 193/2 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Mohammad Rizwan (78*) and Fakhar Zaman (53) hammered half-centuries for the side. During the chase, Hong Kong faced a big batting collapse, losing wickets of all of their players for single digits.
Pakistan’s Shadab Khan picked a four-wicket haul, while Mohammad Nawaz took three wickets to bundle out Hong Kong for just 38 runs. Pakistan grabbed a huge victory by 155 runs, with Rizwan winning the Player of the Match award.
