LSG vs GT: Revealed why Wriddhiman Saha isn't included in GT playing 11 against LSG

Wriddhiman Saha scored 76 runs in his first four matches for GT in IPL 2024.
During match No. 21 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT), fans got surprised as Titans wicket-keeper batter Wriddhiman Saha was not included in the GT’s playing XI on April 7.
In the ongoing IPL 2024, Saha has so far played four matches and scored 76 runs at an average of 19.00 for GT. However, after LSG’s KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first, GT captain Shubman Gill revealed reason behind Shah’s exclusion.
Talking at the toss, Gill explained that the senior wicket-keeper batter will miss the LSG clash due to back spasms. GT skipper also added that in place of Saha, wicket-keeper batter BR Sharath will make his IPL debut.
Speaking at the toss Shubman Gill said, “We would have bowled first, so happy. We were top on the game for 33 overs of the match, the last 7 overs didn’t go in our favour. We have a couple of changes. Saha misses out due to a back spasm and BR Sharath makes his debut for us. Spencer comes back in for Omarzai. We got to forget what has happened in the previous match.”
We are going to bat first: LSG skipper KL Rahul
After winning the toss and opt to bat first against GT, KL Rahul said that they are playing with the same team. Rahul also mentioned about their star pacer Mayank Yadav’s workload management.
“We are going to bat first. Looks like a good wicket, we batted first in the last two games, defended pretty well. They have a better record against us, but they have been a better team and had success in the previous two seasons. We are playing with the same team. It’s still his (Mayank Yadav’S) first season, a few injuries have been hard on his body. For a 21 old boy he’s very professional. It’s important for us to manage him. We have some good fast bowlers and we have Morne and others to look after him,” KL Rahul said during the toss.
