Hardik Pandya is one of the most important players for the Indian Cricket Team, especially in white-ball cricket. The pace-bowling all-rounder is known for his hard-hitting down the order while also giving variety to the bowling lineup.

Recently, India have not been in good form in white-ball cricket as they lost both the T20I series against Ireland and England and then the ODI series against England. They lacked a player like Hardik, who could change the course of a game on his own, and he has proved this in the past as well.

Hardik Pandya, who is currently injured, is trying his best to get back to full fitness. He also got injured during the last World Cup and was ruled out, after which the Indian team lost the final in his absence. Hardik’s availability is therefore very important for the team as they look to prepare for the upcoming 2027 ODI World Cup.

He is currently living in Bengaluru, and the team management is assessing his progress. On that note, let’s have a look at the current major updates regarding Hardik Pandya’s fitness.

According to Rohit Juglan of RevSportz, Hardik Pandya is currently living in Bengaluru and has begun his training programme at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in preparation for the 2027 Cricket World Cup. He is practising on concrete and tiled surfaces while using plastic-ball drills to sharpen his reflexes against the short ball.

Another thing that has been noticed is that he is practising paddle sweep shots, and he bowls 12 overs per day, with five to six overs at full intensity. Pandya is also seen starting his day with 15 to 20 minutes of taping and stretching before spending an hour in the gym, after which he moves on to either batting or bowling.

He faces throwdowns from specialists and local bowlers. While bowling, he bowls in the open nets at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. To ensure that he can train continuously for the upcoming World Cup, Pandya has rented a villa in Bengaluru, around 20 km from the BCCI Centre of Excellence, where he will stay throughout his build-up to the 2027 Cricket World Cup.
