Massive blow for Mumbai Indians as Dilshan Madushanka suffers hamstring injury ahead of IPL 2024
Mumbai Indians acquired Dilshan Madushanka for 4.6 crores at the IPL 2024 auction.
Sri Lanka’s left-arm pacer Dilshan Madushanka had a terrific ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign for his side and finished as third highest wicket-taker in the tournament. After his five wicket-haul against India at Wankhede, Madushanka became a hot property to get for Mumbai Indians (MI). MI spent 4.6 crores on the Sri Lankan pacer.
Now, MI have suffered a major setback as Dilshan Madushanka sustained hamstring injury during Sri Lanka’s ongoing three-match ODI series against Bangladesh. Madushanka has been ruled out of the final ODI game scheduled to be played at Zahur Ahmed Chaudhary Cricket Stadium in Chattogram. His IPL participation is also in doubt.
