Michael Vaughan snubs India as he names his four semi-finalists of ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Michael Vaughan came up with some early predictions ahead of ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan has predicted four semi-finalists for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The marquee tournament will be played in the West Indies and the USA starting in June. However, Vaughan hasn’t picked up the 2007 T20 World Cup winners India in the list of his four semi-finalists.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming marquee tournament. In a surprising turn of events, the Indian cricketing board omitted KL Rahul, who played in the previous edition of the T20 World Cup. Instead, they included wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson.

Adding more to it, they have not included in-form lower middle-order batter Rinku Singh in the initial line-up, but he will travel as a reserve player along with Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed.

With India once again entering the upcoming tournament as one of the favorites to win the title, former England captain Vaughan feels that the Rohit Sharma-led side will not make it into the semi-finals.

In his latest post on his ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) handle, he chose the two-time champions West Indies, South Africa, defending champions England, and the most successful side in ICC events, Australia, as his four semi-finalists.

“My 4 Semi finalists for the T20 WC … England, Australia, South Africa and the West Indies,” Vaughan posted on X.
