Matt Short and Lance Morris have been ruled out of Australia ODI squad due to injuries.

Australia Cricket Team have been forced to make three changes to their squad for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa. The Proteas are on a white-ball tour of Australia, which includes a three-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series. Two T20I games have taken place.

All-rounder Mitchell Owen was expected to make his ODI debut against South Africa. However, he has been ruled out of the series due to a concussion. The batting all-rounder was hit on his helmet by Kagiso Rabada during the second T20I.

As per Cricket Australia’s concussion protocols, he will have to be rested for a minimum of 12 days. Hence, he will miss the last T20I and the three ODIs against the visitors. Moreover, Matthew Short and Lance Morris have been ruled out of the ODI series due to injuries.

Short has not recovered from a side injury he picked up while training during the West Indies tour. He also missed all five T20I games against West Indies due to the issue. Morris sustained a back soreness and will return to Perth for further assessment.

Aaron Hardie and Matthew Kuhnemann, who are part of the T20I squad, have been added to the ODI squad too. Cooper Connolly has also been included. Wicket-keeper Josh Inglis missed the second T20I due to flu-like symptoms, but will remain with the squad for the last T20I game.
