Mitchell Starc took ten wickets in the first Ashes 2025-26 test in Perth.
Australian Cricket Team fast bowler Mitchell Starc achieved a massive feat in the history of test cricket. He equalled the massive record of Wasim Akram, becoming the left-arm pacer with the most wickets in the longest format of the game.
Mitchell Starc achieved the feat in the ongoing second Australia vs England, Ashes 2025-26 test. The pink-ball game between the two teams is underway at the Gabba in Brisbane, where the hosts were asked to field first after losing the toss.
Mitchell Starc, who took ten wickets in the opening test of Ashes 2025-26, continued his fine form with the ball and provided Australia with important breakthroughs in the match. He continued the trend of taking wickets in the first over as he removed Ben Duckett for a golden duck.
Then after that, he sent Ollie Pope packing as well and Australia took two early wickets. With the two wickets, he completed 414 wickets in the longest format of the game, joining Wasim Akram’s record of most test wickets by a left-arm fast bowler in tests.
Mitchell Starc has been one of the best left-arm pacers in world cricket currently. The pacer has been the mainstay of Australia’s bowling lineup in tests over the last 15 years. With the way he is going, he is expected to take the top spot in the list of most test wickets by a left-arm bowler in the test cricket.
