IPL 2025: [Watch] Mitchell Starc uproots Nicholas Pooran's stumps on DC debut

Nicholas Pooran smashed 75 runs before getting dismissed by Mitchell Starc.

The fourth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is underway in Visakhapatnam.

Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bowl first. The hosts are also missing star batsman KL Rahul in this game, who is currently in Mumbai with his wife Athiya Shetty as the couple welcomed their first child.

Sent in to bat first, LSG got off to a flying start with a 46-run opening stand between Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram. Marsh was then joined by Nicholas Pooran, and the duo added 87 runs for the second wicket.

Pooran top-scored for LSG with 75 off 30 balls and looked all set to secure a sensational century and propel LSG to a target beyond DC’s reach.

The turning point of the innings came when Mitchell Starc cleaned up Nicholas Pooran in the 15th over. Attempting to continue the run flow, the southpaw lost his middle stump while trying to attack a full-length in-swinging delivery from Starc towards the leg side.

LSG finished their innings at 209/8 off 20 overs. Nicholas Pooran (75 off 30) and Mitchell Marsh (72 off 36) were the chief contributors in their huge total. For the hosts, Starc picked three wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav contributed with two. Vipraj Nigam and Mukesh Kumar scalped one wicket each.
