After Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir takes u-turn from retirement; Makes himself available for ICC T20 World Cup 2024
Mohammad Amir had retired from international cricket in 2020 citing mental torture from Pakistani teammates.
The series of Pakistani players doing U-turns from their international retirements has continued. After Imad Wasim made himself available for the Pakistan T20I team a few days ago, pacer Mohammad Amir has also reversed his retirement and made himself available for T20 World Cup 2024.
On December 17, 2020, he declared his retirement from international cricket. However, he has been an active participant in the PSL and other domestic cricket leagues.
He played for Quetta Gladiators in the recent PSL 2024 season, taking 10 wickets in nine matches. He was precise and swung the new ball throughout the various venues.
After competing in the 2019 World Cup, Amir announced his retirement from international cricket before the end of 2020. While retiring, he stated that he chose to leave the game owing to the PCB’s continual torturing of him.
