Mohammad Rizwan joked about his cramps after a record-breaking win over Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

Mohammad Rizwan played a major role in Pakistan's six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. During his knock, he was seen in pain because of the cramps.

Speaking about it after the match, the Pakistan keeper Mohammad Rizwan joked about it by saying that he was in pain at times and sometimes, it was his acting. "It happens with me sometimes. I was in pain but I fought through it. Sometimes cramps, sometimes acting,” he joked. He also added that he was feeling fine after the match.

Talking about the victory, Mohammad Rizwan said it was a tough chase, but they always believed they could win the match. He also added that it was a proud moment to perform for the country. "It was a tough chase. Yes, Babar Azam got out but the belief was there that we could chase it down. It was a team game and we knew we could do it. The wicket out there was good to bat on,” he said.

Pakistan move to second spot in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 points table

After their highest-ever ODI chase, Pakistan have moved to the second spot in the points table of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Sri Lanka, who have lost both their matches, are currently in the eighth position.

Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka posted 344 for 9 in their 50 overs. Kusal Mendis continued his good form and notched up 77-ball 122. He was well supported by Sadeera Samarawickrama, who scored 108 off 89 deliveries.

In reply, Pakistan lost Babar Azam early but the partnership between Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan changed the course of the game. Shafique departed after making 113 off 103, while Rizwan remained unbeaten at 131 off 121.

Talking about their partnership, Rizwan revealed that he advised Abdullah to take 20 overs at a time. “I spoke to Shafique and the talk was about breaking down the innings and taking it 20 overs at a time and setting small targets to get the win. It was a sporting wicket and that helped me a lot,” Rizwan said.

Pakistan will take on India in their next match on 14th October. Sri Lanka, who are yet to open their account, will face Australia on 16th October.
