Mohammad Rizwan has used up his quota of two foreign T20 league signings as per PCB guidelines.
Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan ODI captain, was recently snubbed from the Green Shirts’ Asia Cup 2025 squad. Rizwan, with time on his hands and to better his T20I footing, has now signed up with the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots franchise for the ongoing season of Carribean Premier League (CPL) 2025.
Rizwan, along with Babar Azam, was ignored for the renewed T20I setup of Pakistan cricket. Under Salman Ali Agha’s captaincy, the focus is more on youngsters and rewarding the performers of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) tournament.
Rizwan has played 39 tests, 94 ODIs, and 106 T20Is for Pakistan. In the T20Is, Rizwan has 3414 runs with an average of 47.41 and a strike rate of 125.37, with one century and 30 fifties to his name. He was an integral part of Pakistan’s T20I setup until June last year. But the humiliation Pakistan suffered in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 that year led to his ouster from the setup.
Mohammad Rizwan to play in CPL 2025 for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots

According to ESPNCricinfo, Mohammad Rizwan has decided to sign with the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots for the remaining CPL 2025 matches after being left out of Pakistan’s Asia Cup 2025 squad.
Fazalhaq Farooqi, who is expected to join the Afghanistan team for the tri-series against the UAE and Pakistan, will be replaced by the Rizwan. A no-objection certificate (NOC) from the PCB is now thought to be merely a formality. The CPL, which already boasts a strong roster of Pakistani players, will be Rizwan’s first time participating.
Usama Mir’s signing with the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons was revealed earlier on Thursday. The quick bowlers Naseem Shah and Abbas Afridi are already members of the Patriots’ playing pool from Pakistan. As players for the Falcons, Trinbago Knight Riders, and Jamaica Tallawahs, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, and Salman Irshad are also competing this year.
Rizwan will also use up his allotment of two international T20 competitions as a result of signing with the Patriots. Over a 12-month period beginning in July, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has set a limit of two centrally contracted players who can participate.
Rizwan inked a Big Bash League (BBL) contract with the Melbourne Renegades earlier this year.
