Mohammed Siraj picked 23 wickets in the ENG vs IND series.

Indian Cricket Team fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was the major reason behind the team winning the fifth test against the England Cricket Team. The game between the two teams took place at The Oval in London.

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj yet again stepped up and won the game for India and helped his side draw the series 2-2. After taking four wickets in the first innings, he brought his best with the ball in the second innings, especially at a time when India were down.

On the last day of the game, India needed four wickets to win but had only 35 runs to save. Not many backed India to win, but Mohammed Siraj believed in himself, making the ball talk and troubling England under massive pressure.

Mohammed Siraj took three out of the four wickets on day five and completed his second fifer of the series. He became the hero as India ended the series in a draw, bagging crucial points in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27.

Mohammed Siraj talked about his performance and said that he missed Jasprit Bumrah, adding that he now believes in himself and Jassi bhai. Speaking to BCCI, he said:

“Every batsman, every bowler, the whole team — the way we made a comeback, it’s crazy, man. Love it. I’ll miss Jassi bhai (Jasprit Bumrah), because if he was here, it would’ve been a different presence altogether. Yeah exactly — I believe in Jassi bhai and in myself.”

Mohammed Siraj also admitted that dropped chance of Harry Brook was playing on his mind. He elaborated:

“To be honest, I can’t really describe what I’m feeling right now. Yesterday, when I dropped that catch… even last night, that one catch kept playing in my mind — like, how could I miss that? If I had taken it, we wouldn’t be here today; we’d be relaxing in our rooms. But I guess the Almighty had something else planned, something good — that’s why we’re here today, and you can see the result for yourself.”

Mohammed Siraj ended the series as the leading wicket-taker as he picked 23 wickets. He played all five games of the series and bagged two fifers. He also won Player of the Match award for his heroics in the Oval test.
