Mohammed Siraj is currently part of the Indian Cricket Team’s squad for the three-match ODI series against the New Zealand Cricket Team.
Indian Cricket Team pacer Mohammed Siraj is currently busy with national duty as he is part of the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand. The right-arm pacer clinched two wickets in the first ODI to lend a hand in the team’s victory.
However, he went wicketless in the second game as the Men in Blue lost the match by seven wickets. The Black Caps made a stunning comeback by chasing down a 285-run total with ease, with Daryl Michell scoring a match-winning century.
The ODI series against New Zealand marked Mohammed Siraj’s comeback in the ODIs after being dropped for the last series against South Africa. But, he made sure that he made the most of the free time as he played for Hyderabad in Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025-26.
The right-arm pacer played three games for the side, delivering an impressive performance. He rocked the field in the clash against Bengal by taking a four-wicket haul.
Mohammed Siraj named captain of Hyderabad for the second leg of Ranji Trophy 2025-26

Following his impressive show, Hyderabad has made him the captain of the side for the second leg of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26. He will replace Rahul Singh in the role.
Siraj will have the reins of the side in the upcoming games against Mumbai and Chhattisgarh later this month. Hyderabad are part of Elite Group D in the tournament and have played five games so far. With one victory and one defeat, they take the fifth place in the points table with 13 points.
Mumbai, Jammu & Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh are other teams in the same pool. Hyderabad will square off with Mumbai from January 22 onwards, and the clash will take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Later, they will clash with Chhattisgarh at the same venue on January 29.
