Mohammed Siraj said defeat by 22 runs in the Lord’s test was heartbreaking for him.

The Indian Cricket Team are gearing up for the fourth test against the England Cricket Team, which will begin on July 23 at Old Trafford, Manchester. Ahead of the encounter, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah will be part of the next test.

Notably, Bumrah is only going to play three tests out of five games during the series to manage his workload. He has already played two games, and the next test will mark his last match in the series. The right-arm pacer has shown a wonderful form in the series.

Bumrah has scalped 12 wickets in two games at an average of 21.0. He picked up five-wicket hauls in both matches he played. England lead the five-match series 2-1, and the Manchester test is a must-win game for India to keep series victory hopes alive.

Ahead of the fourth test in Manchester, Siraj said that Bumrah will be part of the next game. He also added that Akash Deep has a groin issue, but he underwent training.

“Akash Deep has a groin issue, he bowled today and now physios will see. Jassi bhai to khelege. [Jasprit Bumrah will play]. The combination is changing but we need to bowl in good areas. Plan is simple – stick to good areas,” Siraj was quoted as saying by Times of India.

Notably, Siraj bagged a shocking dismissal in the previous test at Lord’s. He and Ravindra Jadeja led India’s fightback during the 193-run chase. However, Siraj lost his wicket as the ball went on to hit the stumps after he defended it from the middle of the bat, as England claimed a victory by 22 runs. Speaking about the Lord’s test, he said that he got very emotional after the defeat.

“I am very emotional… it could have been 2-1. Jaddu bhai ne itna fight kiya. (Jadeja fought so much). But then I said to myself that series is not over and I will work on my batting. We kept working hard on our batting since Australia. 22 runs defeat was heartbreaking”, he said.

Meanwhile, Siraj is the leading wicket-taker in the series with 13 wickets in three games. In the second test at Edgbaston, Siraj hunted a six-wicket haul in the first innings and played a crucial role in India’s victory.
