Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are clashing in the Indian Premier League 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. GT failed to reach a respectable total in the first innings, piling up 155/8 on the scoreboard.
Opener Venkatesh Iyer and Virat Kohli gave a quickfire start to RCB in the chase. Iyer dominated the GT pacers at the start with his boundaries. Kohli and Iyer etched an opening partnership of 62 runs.
Pacer Mohammed Siraj gave the first breakthrough to Gujarat Titans, dismissing Iyer in the fifth over. He scored 32 runs off 16 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 4 fours.

After dismissing Iyer, Siraj gave an aggressive send-off to the RCB opener. His gestures went viral on social media. Notably, both players also had a heated exchange at the start. When Siraj eventually dismissed him, he raised his hands to mock Iyer. Have a look at the video below.
Despite losing his wicket, Iyer executed his job of giving a blistering start to the RCB. He added 62 runs with Kohli in just 4.3 overs and RCB piled up 70 runs in the powerplay, getting a head start in the chase.
Speaking about the 1st innings, GT lost both openers Sai Sudharsan (12) and Shubman Gill (10) cheaply. Their top-order batters struggled to score, reaching 99/5 at one stage. Washington Sundar (50*) scored an unbeaten half-century to add crucial runs on the board. GT ended with 155/8.
For RCB, Rasikh Salam Dar clinched a three-wicket haul. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood grabbed two wickets each, while Krunal Pandya took one scalp.
