India are 2-0 ahead in the IND vs AFG T20I series.
India and Afghanistan are currently facing each other in a three-match T20I series at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Both teams are using this series as an important part of their preparations for the upcoming Asian Games 2026.
The IND vs AFG T20I series began on September 13 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. India won the opening game by seven wickets after chasing down Afghanistan’s 156/8 in just 13.4 overs.
The second T20I was also played in Delhi on September 15. India once again won by seven wickets, with Sanju Samson smashing 57 off 22 balls and helping India chase down Afghanistan’s 160-run target in only 14.5 overs. With this victory, India took a 2-0 lead in the series.
Although all three T20Is are being played in India, Afghanistan are officially the hosts. This means the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is responsible for hosting the series and has the opportunity to earn revenue from it.
How much money will ACB earn from the IND vs AFG T20I series?

According to a Hindustan Times report, ACB is expected to earn around US$2 million per match from the media rights of the IND vs AFG T20I series.
This puts the total value of the TV and digital media rights at around US$6 million for all three matches, and this is approximately Rs. 57 crore.
The media rights were sold through ITW Universe, the ACB’s global consulting partner. Sony has the television rights, while FanCode has the digital rights for the series.
The media rights are not only a source of revenue for the ACB. Since Afghanistan are the official hosts, they can also benefit from ticket sales and commercial deals around the matches.
The Hindustan Times report also stated that around 90 per cent of the on-ground sponsorship and activation inventory had been sold nearly a month before the series.
Afghanistan have used India as one of their home grounds for several years because of the challenges involved in hosting international teams in Afghanistan. The arrangement allows Afghanistan to host a major bilateral series while avoiding the difficulties of staging international matches in their own country.
ACB Chairman Mirwais Ashraf also spoke about the importance of the arrangement.
“This series holds great significance for Afghanistan cricket and represents another important step in the development of our longstanding relationship with the BCCI,” Mirwais Ashraf said.
