In the 2012 T20 World Cup, India won their first two games, defeating Afghanistan and England at the RPS ground in Colombo. They suffered a loss to Australia in their third game, but then defeated Pakistan and South Africa, but failed to qualify for the semis.
India continued their winning run in the 2014 T20 World Cup, defeating Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, Australia, and South Africa on their way to the final of the tournament. However, they fell short in the summit clash, losing to Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in Mirpur, Dhaka.
3. 8 wins—Australia (2022-24)

Australia began their 2022 T20 World Cup with a loss to New Zealand but then went on a rampage, winning against Sri Lanka, Ireland, and Afghanistan. But they had failed to make it to the semi-final of the event.
Australia continued their winning run in the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies, defeating Oman, England, Namibia, Scotland, and Bangladesh before finally losing to Afghanistan and India in the Super Eights. This ended their brilliant winning run across two T20 World Cups.
2. 8 wins—South Africa (2024)
South Africa had a dream run in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where they played games in both the USA and the West Indies. They started with wins over Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, and Bangladesh in Group D matches.
Then the caravan moved to the West Indies and South Africa and continued the winning run, defeating Nepal, the USA, England, and the West Indies. The Proteas faced Afghanistan in the semi-final of the tournament and defeated them; however, their winning run was stopped by India in the final.

India have done well in the T20 World Cup 2024, defeating Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA in the first round in the USA. Their match against Canada was rained out.
