Top 5 most followed IPL teams on Instagram

The most followed IPL team on Instagram has more than 20 million followers.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) started in 2008 and has had 18 seasons so far. The tournament began with eight teams; now, ten teams are part of the current IPL 2025 edition, which shows the rise of the league. Some teams were also part of the season earlier, but they featured in only a few seasons and were ousted from the league due to various reasons.

Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are the most successful teams in the IPL. Both teams have won five titles. The next on the list are Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with three titles in their kitty. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Gujarat Titans (GT), and the defunct Deccan Chargers have won the IPL titles once.

While IPL teams battle with each other on the field, their fans clash with each other on social media. Instagram is a popular social media platform where teams connect with their fans. Notably, all the current 10 sides have millions of followers on Instagram.

Interestingly, although MI and CSK have won the most IPL trophies, they are not the most followed team on Instagram. The most followed IPL team on Instagram has over 20 million followers. On that note, let’s glance at the top five most-followed teams on Instagram.

5. Sunrisers Hyderabad- 5.4 Million
