IPL 2026: Orange Cap & Purple Cap after Qualifier 2, GT vs RR

GT will now face RCB in the IPL 2026 final.

Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League 2026 on May 29 to book a berth in the final. Rajasthan won the toss and opted to bat first.

Rajasthan Royals lost two early wickets in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel. After that, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ravindra Jadeja provided a good start.

Sooryavanshi came up with a stunning 96-run knock, while Jadeja added an unbeaten 45 runs. Donovan Ferreira played a fabulous cameo towards the end, hitting 11-ball 38 runs. RR finished with a respectable total of 214/6.

However, the total was not enough to restrict the Gujarat Titans. Openers Sai Sudharsan (58) and Shubman Gill (104) built an opening stand of 167 runs, which set the platform for Gujarat’s victory.

They eventually reached the target within 19 overs, grabbing a victory by seven wickets. GT will now clash with RCB in the IPL 2026 final on May 31.
