MS Dhoni gifts Yuzvendra Chahal a bat ahead of the CSK vs PBKS clash in IPL 2025.
Indian star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal received a special gift from MS Dhoni during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match No. 49 of IPL 2025 on Wednesday, April 29. The encounter will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Ahead of the game, CSK skipper MS Dhoni gifted a bat to Chahal. As PBKS spinner Chahal showed the precious gift to his teammates in the dressing room, Glenn Maxwell and Priyansh Arya teased him. Maxwell, one of Chahal’s closest friends, asked him why he needed a bat when he gets substituted in every match. IPL debutant Priyansh Arya teased him that he would steal the bat.

The PBKS franchise shared the video of the entire fun moment on their Instagram handle. They captioned the video “@yuzi_chahal23 bhai, ek aur bat khaate mein!”. Have a look at the IG post and the entire conversation between Chahal, Maxwell, and Arya below.
Maxwell: What you gonna do with this?
Yuzi: I will play.
Maxwell: You get subbed (substituted) out in every game, didn’t you?
Arya: Some boy from Haryana will definitely take this bat. (Referring to himself.)
Yuzi: No chance.
Arya has been a phenomenal batter for the Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He has slammed 323 runs across nine games. The left-handed batsman is the leading run-scorer for the side. Maxwell has largely failed to make an impact. The Aussie all-rounder has slammed just 48 runs off six innings. Chahal has picked nine wickets for PBKS, including an impeccable four-wicket haul in one match.
Meanwhile, CSK has a crucial game against PBKS at their home venue in Chennai. They need to win the game at any cost to keep their playoffs’ hopes alive. CSK are placed last in the points table with four points. They have won just two games out of nine so far. Shreyas Iyer-led PBKS are placed fifth with five wins and three losses from nine matches (one no result).
