MS Dhoni may undergo knee surgery to get fit for IPL 2024

Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed captain MS Dhoni will undergo surgery.
Chennai Super Kings had a glorious ending to their campaign in the IPL 2023. After the 5th title win, fans were expecting a retirement announcement from CSK skipper MS Dhoni, but in return, he filled them with joy by announcing he will have to come back to reciprocate the love he got from his fans. The CSK skipper was injured throughout the tournament and played with a sore knee. Often he was seen limping or with an ice pack on his left knee. Now he has consulted with specialists for his knee injury and may undergo surgery as well. Dhoni has promised his fans another Indian Premier Season before he calls it a day in his 23 years long professional cricket career.
MS Dhoni starts preparation for IPL 2024
On Wednesday, MS Dhoni visited Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai where he went through a few checkups and later was advised to undergo surgery. CSK captain MS Dhoni consulted Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala who is the director of the sports medicine department. Pardiwala also treated Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant after he met with a massive accident in December last year. Dhoni also had a consultation with CSK management, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed the reports and said that Dhoni went to meet Dr. Pardiwala and to be ready for the next season he will be undergoing surgery. "He has gone to meet Dr Padriwal and he is prepared to take the surgery route to recover fully for the next season," CEO Kasi Viswanathan told Cricbuzz. Dhoni was in trouble the entire IPL 2023 season with his knee problem.
Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni is among the most successful captains in the IPL along with Rohit Sharma. They both have the title for the record 5 times. MS Dhoni is already retired from international & domestic cricket, there were huge expectations that MS Dhoni will say goodbye after the glorious end of the IPL 2023 in the Final. He has 8-9 months before the next IPL season and will hang his boots after the IPL 2024. Earlier he also felt that he will take a little break and decide after this period according to his fitness and how the body will be reacting to the workload.
