"He's very humble": Sai Sudharsan shares experience of talking with MS Dhoni

Sai Sudharsan played an outstanding knock of 96 runs in 46 balls in the IPL 2023 final.

Young Tamil Nadu batter Sai Sudharsan had an unforgettable IPL 2023 season with Gujarat Titans. Sai played an outstanding knock for Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 final against Chennai Super Kings. Sudharsan earned a standing ovation from his teammates at the Titans dugout. He smashed 96 runs in 46 balls to get Gujarat Titans at 214. His efforts were valuable in the Gujarat Titans middle order. He also earned praise from his captain who predicted Sai is going to be the future of Indian Cricket in the coming days. Sai Sudharsan has been a man in form every time he enters the field to bat for Gujarat Titans or even Tamil Nadu. 

'Had a 10-15 minute chat with MS Dhoni'

The 21-year-old was jubilant to meet his role model MS Dhoni after the IPL 2023 Qualifier 1 game in Chennai. Talking to CNN-News 18, Sai said, "I got an opportunity to speak to him for 10-15 minutes after the Qualifier one. I think we spoke a lot about cricket, and knowing more about yourself, and I think it is very useful and I will take it going forward definitely”. Talking about MS Dhoni he said he is a humble person and looks forward to interacting with him in next season. Sai said, “He was very humble and he gave everybody a lot of time and that is one thing that I admire about him”. 

'MS Dhoni is most humble one'

The left-hand batter played an outstanding knock against Chennai Super Kings in the final. Being a Chennai born, Sai Sudharsan felt that his knock in the IPL final was a special one. Sudharsan scored 96 runs in 46 balls with 8 fours and 6 sixes. Sudharsan said, “It felt very special to play against CSK in the finals. To be honest, I grew up watching CSK and almost saw all the cricketers play. Coming from Chennai, CSK is always close to everyone’s heart and to me as well. We grew up seeing Dhoni play. I am happy and fortunate that I got an opportunity at the start of the tournament to play”. Sudharsan scored 362 runs in 8 innings this season. 

Sai Sudharsan credits Hardik Pandya

Sai Sudharsan is thankful to his captain Hardik Pandya for the opportunity. He said, “Hardik bhai creates a platform for every cricketer to showcase their talent to the fullest. I think those things from the Hardik bhai and the environment which they put us in made it easy for me to believe that I belong to that place or I could also be part of this time”. Pandya made a big statement on Sudharsan’s career and predicted he will be a future star for Indian cricket soon.
