Indian bowler Mukesh Kumar misses IND vs AUS 3rd T20I in Guwahati for his marriage

Mukesh Kumar played first two T20I games in the series against Australia.

Team India will be batting first against Australia in the 3rd T20I game as Australian skipper Mathew Wade has won the toss and invited India to bat first. India will be looking to secure the five-match T20I series at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati against the Australians as they are 2-0 up in the series. India defeated Australia in the first two games played in Vishakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram. 

Indian playing XI witnessed a change as Mukesh Kumar will be missing the 3rd T20I match of the series as he is getting married soon. BCCI put out an update regarding Mukesh Kumar and stated, “Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar made a request to BCCI to be released from India’s squad ahead of the third T20I against Australia in Guwahati. Mukesh is getting married and has been granted leave for the duration of his wedding festivities.” 

Mukesh to return for the 4th game

Mukesh Kumar will be joining the Indian team ahead of the 4th T20I games scheduled to be played at Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Raipur on 1st December. Deepak Chahar has been added to the Indian squad for the remainder of the series against Australia. Mukesh Kumar got engaged in February 2023 to Divya Singh. Earlier the couple wanted to get married after the IPL but now in November, they are finally tying the knot. 

Indian stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav also congratulated the Indian pacer. Suryakumar Yadav informed during the toss, “One change for us, Avesh replaces Mukesh, who is playing his biggest game, he’s getting married and we wish him all the best.” Mukesh Kumar had a terrific two games. He conceded only 29 runs in 4 overs in the first game and bowled a magnificent final over. He got one wicket in the second game played at Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. 

Australia have made several changes in their playing XI as Steve Smith, and Adam Zampa, have boarded the flight back home to get themselves prepared for the upcoming Pakistan test series. They will soon be joined by Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis and Sean Abbott who will be playing their final game of the series tonight. Travis Head has made a comeback in the playing XI for Australia along with Kane Richardson and Jason Behrendorff.
