Mumbai Indians still have two matches left in IPL 2026.

Mumbai Indians (MI) have delivered a dismal performance in the Indian Premier League 2026 so far. They have been eliminated from the tournament and currently take the ninth spot in the points table.

Hardik Pandya & Co. have won just four and lost eight out of 12 games so far. They have two more games in the league stage. They will clash with the Kolkata Knight Riders on May 20, followed by their last match against the Rajasthan Royals on May 24.

While the Mumbai Indians cannot change their fortunes by winning these games, they can improve their rankings in the points table and conclude the tournament on a winning note. MI won their previous match against the Punjab Kings by six wickets.

Ahead of their next two matches, Mumbai have suffered a big blow as two of their star players have been ruled out of the tournament due to injuries.

Wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock and all-rounder Raj Angad Bawa have been ruled out of IPL 2026 due to injuries.

De Kock suffered a tendon injury in his left wrist ahead of the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. On the other hand, Raj Bawa sustained a ligament tear to his right thumb during MI’s previous game against PBKS.

De Kock was rested in the initial games and played only three games for MI. The left-handed batsman scored 132 runs at a strike rate of 162.96, including an unbeaten century. Bawa also featured in three games, picking two wickets at an economy of 12.50.

Meanwhile, Mumbai were short of their captain Hardik Pandya in their last three matches due to a back spasm. While Suryakumar Yadav led the side in the clashes against LSG and RCB, Jasprit Bumrah was the stand-in captain in the previous game against PBKS.

Why is Quinton de Kock out of IPL 2026?

He has been ruled out due to a wrist injury.
