Mustafizur Rahman achieved the feat during the Super Four clash against Sri Lanka in Asia Cup 2025.
Bangladesh Cricket Team pacer Mustafizur Rahman achieved a massive feat during the Super Four game against the Sri Lanka Cricket Team in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 on Saturday, September 20. The left-arm pacer became the joint-highest wicket-taker for his team in T20I cricket.
Mustafizur Rahman was the star with the ball for Bangladesh as his other teammates were taken for runs. With his cutters and slowers, he troubled the Sri Lanka batters and picked wickets at the crucial stages of the innings, not allowing the opposition to post a total beyond reach.
After being asked to bat first, Sri Lanka openers Pathun Nissanka (22) and Kusal Mendis (34) gave a brilliant start with the bat, etching an opening stand of 44 runs in five overs. However, the start got wasted as the Island nation lost wickets quickly after that with Kamil Mishara (5) and Kusal Perera (16) failing to score big
Dasun Shanaka, batting at five, slammed a quickfire unbeaten 64 runs off 37 deliveries. Hitting six sixes and three boundaries, his knock powered the scoreboard to 168/7.
