The Rohit Sharma-led India won the ICC T20 World Cup in June.

Indian cricket team‘s test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma has expressed his thoughts about what type of environment he wanted to create when he took over the captaincy of the national side in 2021.

Rohit Sharma is regarded as one of the finest captains in Indian cricketing history. The 37-year-old has captained the Indian side in 126 matches (across formats) and won 93 till now. Rohit has a win percentage of 76.42 across formats.

Under Rohit, the Indian cricket team tasted the success of lifting the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June.

The 37-year-old became the second Men in Blue skipper after MS Dhoni to lift an ICC T20 title. The Rohit-led India also ended their 11-year-long wait for an ICC trophy and also their 17-year-long wait for a T20 title.

Rohit announced his T20I retirement after winning the T20 World Cup trophy.

My dream was to transform this team and not worry about stats: Rohit Sharma

Recently, Rohit said that it was his aim to create an environment where his players can play freely without worrying about personal records and milestones.

Since last year, the Indian batters have been playing an attacking brand of cricket, with the skipper himself leading from the front with an aggressive modus operandi.

“It was my dream to transform this team and not worry too much about the stats, the results, to make sure that we create that environment where people can go out there and play freely without thinking too much,” Rohit Sharma said during the CEAT Cricket Awards on Wednesday in Mumbai.
