What is N Jagadeesan's record in First-Class cricket?

N Jagadeesan has been one of the best keeper-batters going in the Indian domestic circuit.

Tamil Nadu wicket-keeper batter N Jagadeesan is all set to receive his maiden call-up for the Indian Cricket Team. As per various media reports, it is learned that he will be joining India’s test squad as Rishabh Pant’s replacement for the last game of the five-match series against the England Cricket Team at the Oval, starting 31st July. 

Rishabh Pant has fractured his right toe and is all set to miss the next game. He got hit on the foot as he attempted to reverse sweep against Chris Woakes in the Manchester test. He looked in a lot of pain and then was carried off the field on a cart.

Although he came out to bat with a fractured foot on day two of the Manchester test, the chances of him playing the next game are very bleak. With Ishan Kishan, who was reportedly set to replace Pant, being out of contention as well, N Jagadeesan has come into the scheme of things.

Jagadeesan has been one of the finest wicket-keeper batters in Indian domestic cricket. For Tamil Nadu, he has done exceptional things, particularly in the last few seasons, especially in the longest format of the game.

Jagadeesan reportedly has been rewarded with the India call-up for his sensational performances in domestic. He boasts impressive numbers and is one of the main reasons behind Tamil Nadu’s success in the domestic circuit.

What is N Jagadeesan’s record in First-Class cricket?

Jagadeesan has played 52 games in the First-Class (FC) cricket and has slammed 3373 runs at an average of 47.50. Not only this, he has slammed 14 fifties and ten tons. 

In the last edition of the Ranji Trophy, Jagadeesan slammed 674 runs in eight matches at an impressive average of 56.16, with two hundreds and five fifties. He was the leading run-getter for his side in the tournament.

If he’s selected for the last test, there are fewer chances that he might make his debut. This is because Dhruv Jurel is in the frame of things and will be there as a first-choice keeper in the Oval test.
