Fake post over the name of Navjot Singh Sidhu demanded sacking of Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar.

Former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu has lashed out at a fan spreading fake news using his name. He said that whatever is on the internet is something that he could never imagine or say. 

Navjot Singh Sidhu has been in the news for the last few days. The former Indian cricketer’s comments went viral on the internet, where he targeted Indian Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selector Ajit Agarkar. 

The comments that went viral on the internet saw Navjot Singh Sidhu stating that if India wants to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 then the BCCI should sack Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir and also hand over the captaincy back to Rohit Sharma. 

The comments read: “If India wants to win the 2027 World Cup, then BCCI should remove Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir as soon as possible and hand over the captaincy to Rohit Sharma again with full respect.”

This saw fans coming up with mixed reactions. While some lauded Navjot Singh Sidhu for his comments, many criticised him for making such comments against the head coach and selector. 

As the comments caught attention of many, Sidhu reacted strongly to the fake comment, posting on X: “Never said it, don’t spread fake news, never imagined it. Shame on you.”

Notably, Indian head coach Gambhir and selector Ajit Agarkar faced a lot of criticism after Rohit Sharma was removed as the ODI captain. This came after he guided team to ICC Champions Trophy 2025 without even losing a single game in the tournament.
