Nepal and Oman came up with brilliant performances in the Asia-EAP Qualifier of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

The Nepal Cricket Team and the Oman Cricket Team have booked their berth in ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be played in India and Sri Lanka. They confirmed their spots in the tournament after their performances in the Asia-EAP Qualifier.

Along with these two, one more team will be joining them on the flight to India and Sri Lanka. Nepal and Oman booked their spots after the UAE beat Samoa by 77 runs in the Super Six round of Asia-EAP Qualifier. Both teams are at the top of the points table with the same number of points with only Net Run Rate separating the two teams.

The UAE are expected to be the third team from the Asia-EAP Qualifier to qualify for ICC T20 World Cup 2026. They will be locking horns with Japan in a crucial fixture on October 16. If they win, they are expected to go through as they are currently at third spot in the points table.

Coming to Nepal, experienced spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has been a key reason behind his team reaching the T20 World Cup 2026. He has oozed his class with the ball as he has taken ten wickets in four innings at an outstanding average of 9.40 and an economy rate of under six. His best came in the game against Qatar, where he returned with figures of 5/18.

Along with him, Oman’s Jiten Ramanandi has been impressive with the ball. He has taken seven wickets in four innings at an economy rate of 5.90. He was also spot on with the ball in the Asia Cup 2025, where he took the wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma.

19 teams have qualified for ICC T20 World Cup 2026 already

Out of 20, 19 teams have qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Now only one spot remains. The other teams include:  

India, Australia, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, USA, West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Nepal, and Oman.
