Nepal Schedule for ICC T20 World Cup 2026, Fixtures, Dates, Venues
Nepal will face England in their opening game of ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
On Tuesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the schedule of ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Team India won the last edition held in the USA and West Indies in 2024. Hence, the Men in Blue will put their title on the line against the other 19 participants in the 20-team tournament.
A total of 55 matches will be played between 7 February and 8 March 2025. The tournament will follow group stage, Super Eight, and knockout stage format. There are four groups featuring five teams each, which will be followed by the Super Eight round, which will have two groups of four teams.
The top two sides from both groups will qualify for the semi-finals, and the winners of the semis will play in the final. Nepal have also succeeded in qualifying for ICC T20 World Cup 2026. They won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifier and made it to the this edition.
Previously, Nepal played in the 2014 and 2024 editions. So far, they have played seven matches in this ICC event and have two wins under their belts. They are placed in the groups with a couple of former champions.
Nepal are placed in Group C of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026
Nepal had an unbeaten run in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifier, which helped them book a ticket to the mega event in India and Sri Lanka. They are part of Group C, which has two former champions in England and West Indies, with Bangladesh and Italy as the other two teams.
Nepal will play all four group games at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. They will face two-time champion, England on February 8. They will face Italy and West Indies on February 12 and 15 respectively, while their final group game will be against Bangladesh on February 17.
