Netherlands will face Bangladesh in match 28 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in Kolkata.

Netherlands are the only team in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 who are not a test-playing nation. But they have qualified for the tournament after playing some good cricket and finishing the World Cup qualifiers in second place. They even played well so far, showed a great fight, and went on to beat South Africa to script history.

But the Netherlands found it hard to get going in the last game against Australia and lost by 309 runs. Netherlands will now face Bangladesh on Saturday at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. It will be a great chance for them to win their second game if they do well. So let's check out the predicted playing XI for Netherlands against Bangladesh.

Here's Netherlands' predicted playing XI:

1. Vikramjit Singh :

Vikramjit Singh is an attacking batter and showed it in the very first game against Pakistan, but he hasn't had any good moments since then. He looked good in the last game and played some shots early on. He will be confident to deliver against Bangladesh and can take on their bowling attack in the power play.

2. Wesley Barresi :

The 39-year-old Wesley Barresi is yet to play in this tournament, but he was part of the 2011 World Cup played in India. With Max O'Dowd struggling at the top, it is expected that Barresi will make it into the Netherlands' playing XI. He is the most experienced player on the team, and he will have an impact in the batting department.

3. Colin Ackermann :

Colin Ackermann has been a consistent player for Netherlands in this big tournament. He has done well in both departments and has had some amazing moments. Ackermann has scored 137 runs at an average of 27.40 and has also taken four wickets at an economy rate of 5.15. His role will be similar to contribute in both departments and take his team to victory.

4. Bas de Leede :

Bas de Leede had a horrible day in the last match against Australia. He conceded the most expensive ODI spell (2/115) and then managed to just score 4 runs. A lot will depend on how Bas de Leede performs. He is the star all-rounder in this side and a true match-winner in both departments. Though his batting has looked a bit rusty, he can take the game away with the bat in his hand. De Leede has scored 97 runs so far, but with the ball, he has been amazing except for the Australia match. He has taken nine wickets.

5. Teja Nidamanuru :

Teja Nidamanuru has been another player who is highly rated in this Dutch team for his stroke play, but he has been missing so far in this tournament. He has scored only 69 runs in five innings and hasn't looked in good touch. But with not much left to lose, he might get a license to play his natural game and perform well.

6. Scott Edwards (c & wk) :

Skipper Scott Edwards is the backbone of this batting line up and one consistent performer. He has taken responsibilities well and has looked brilliant so far. Edwards has scored 136 runs including a match-winning 78 not out against South Africa. He is expected to play an important part against Bangladesh and his performance will decide which way the game will go.

7. Sybrand Engelbrecht :

Sybrand Engelbrecht missed the first game but played the next four and has been good with the bat. He has scored runs in almost every game. Engelbrecht has made 129 runs in four innings at an average of 32.25. He can play well against spin and pace, which is why he is a great batter in the middle order. Engelbrecht will be the player to watch out for his team in Kolkata.

8. Logan van Beek :

Logan van Beek is another quality all-rounder for Netherlands who has always been in the game. He has taken 8 wickets so far, and batters have found him hard to score off. With the bat as well, he has contributed and scored 97 runs. He bats in the lower middle order and provides strong batting depth to the team. But his key role will be to pick up wickets in the middle.

9. Roelof van der Merwe :

The veteran spinner Roelof van der Merwe is a fiery character who likes to be in the face of the opposition with both the bat and the ball. He is pretty tight with his line and length and bowls stumps-to-stumps, which makes it hard to score runs off. Van der Merwe has taken four wickets at 5.50 and will be a key in the middle overs.

10. Aryan Dutt :

Aryan Dutt has been pretty impressive because he bowls in the powerplay to some of the best players in the world. Being a spinner, it is hard to bowl when five fielders are in the circle, but he has done a great job. Aryan has taken 7 wickets at an economy rate of 5.52 and will be a challenge for Bangladesh.

11. Paul van Meekeren :

Paul van Meekeren is a wicket-taking option for Netherlands with the new ball. He has also done a great job quietly and taken six wickets so far. He will get bounce and seam at the Eden Gardens and can bowl a challenging spell against Bangladesh. His bowling spell can put Netherlands on top on saturday.
