New Zealand announce squad for white-ball tour to India, Kane Williamson dropped from ODIs

New Zealand will three-match ODI series and five-match T20I series on their tour to India in January 2026
The New Zealand Cricket Team have announced their squad for the white-ball tour of India in January 2026. The Black Caps will be locking horns with the Men in Blue in the three-match ODI series followed by the five-match T20I series against India just ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
The New Zealand tour of India will commence with the three-match ODI series, beginning January 11 at the BCA Stadium, Kotambi
Vadodara. The next match will be played in Rajkot on January 14 followed by the last match, which will take place on January 18 in Indore.
The T20I leg of the New Zealand tour will begin on January 21 in Nagpur. The next four games will be played on 23, 25, 28, and 31 January across four different venues. This series will act as a great preparation for both teams ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will begin on February 7.
New Zealand squad for ODI series against India
The New Zealand ODI team will be captained by Michael Bracewell in the absence of regular skipper Mitchell Santner. Along with captain, Rachin Ravindra will also miss the ODIs but will return for the T20Is.
What caught the attention of many was Kane Williamson’s absence from the team. He was expected be play the three games but he hasn’t been named in the side. Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls, Glenn Phillips and Will Young have retained their place in the team.

New Zealand squad for T20I series against India

New Zealand will field a full-strength side in the T20Is. Santner will be back leading the team, which features experienced campaigners in Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Glenn Phillips and Rachin Ravindra.
It is expected that the same squad will play the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will take place one week later after the series.
