What is New Zealand’s record in ICC finals?

New Zealand will clash with India in the T20 World Cup 2026 final on March 8.

Indian Cricket Team and New Zealand Cricket Team will battle for the T20 World Cup 2026 title. The IND vs NZ final will be played on Sunday, March 8, at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Both teams came up a marvellous performances in their respective semi-finals and are equally powerful to outplay each other in the summit clash. While New Zealand have a strong set of opening batters and pacers, the Men-in-Blue will have an upper hand with their spin attack and their batting.

The Black Caps will aim for their first-ever T20 World Cup title, having previously lost the final in the 2021 edition against Australia. The Indian team look forward to winning their third title, having previously won in the 2007 and 2024 editions.

New Zealand have reached the finals of seven ICC tournaments in the past. Out of these, they won the matches on two occasions and lost five times. The Black Caps won the ICC Champions Trophy 2000 final against India. They were also the winners of World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 final against India.

They ended up as runners-up in the 2015 and 2019 editions of ODI World Cup as well as T20 World Cup 2021. Moreover, the Kiwis lost the Champions Trophy final in 2009 and 2025 editions.
