Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has revealed two best moments of his career and both are related to Virat Kohli. The seam all-rounder said that getting the test cap from Kohli is one of the special moments of his career so far.
Nitish Kumar Reddy made his test debut in November 2024 during the opening test against Australia in Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. He was handed the test cap by Kohli and made an impression in the series when he hit a brilliant ton at MCG. The 22-year-old has cemented his place as a key seam all-rounder in the test side.
He was also part of the India squad during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. He played two games out of five tests, scoring 45 runs and clinching three wickets across four innings. After the third test at the Lord’s, Reddy was ruled out of the series due to a knee injury and returned to India.

While speaking on the sidelines of Andhra Premier League, Reddy revealed two best moments of his career. He said that getting the test cap by Kohli and watching him score his last test century were two special moments for him.
“There are many moments but the Test debut cap which Virat Kohli bhaiya gave me, that was a very special moment for me, and one more was, Virat Kohli bhaiya’s last Test century and I was there on the non striker end to watch him”, he said.
Notably, when Reddy made his test debut in the Perth test, Kohli slammed a century in the second innings of the match. Reddy was on the non-strikers’ end when Kohli reached his century. Later, the right-handed batsman announced his retirement from test cricket in May 2025.
Since his debut, the batting all-rounder has played seven tests, scoring 343 runs with one century. He has clinched eight wickets. Reddy has also played four T20Is for India.
