Apart from Nitish Rana, his KKR teammate Rinku Singh was also overlooked for the West Indies T20Is.

Kolkata Knight RidersIPL 2023 captain Nitish Rana shared a cryptic post on social media, a couple of hours after India’s squad for the upcoming T20I series against West Indies was announced. The squad saw new faces like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma getting maiden call-ups.

However, Nitish Rana and his Kolkata Knight Riders teammate Rinku Singh were both ignored in the Indian squad which will face off against West Indies in the five T20Is which will be played from 3-13 August.

The Indian squad was picked by the selection committee under the guidance of the new chief Ajit Agarkar, who continued with the trend of keeping the senior pros out of the shortest format with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, along with Ravindra Jadeja being rested.

Hardik Pandya continues to lead the T20Is side and Suryakumar Yadav will be his deputy. Ishan Kishan. Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson, Jaiswal, and Tilak will helm the batting unit. Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, and Kuldeep Yadav are the spin options for Pandya.

Mukesh Kumar, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan are the pacers at his disposal.

Nitish Rana’s cryptic post after being snubbed from the Indian team

Nitish Rana captained the KKR side after Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the IPL 2023 due to his back injury. He had his career-best IPL season with the bat as the aggressive batter scored 413 runs in 14 games, though KKR missed out on a playoff berth as they finished in seventh place, with 12 points.

Even though Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were rested for the Caribbean tour, Rana, 29, was unable to secure a spot in India's T20I squad despite being one of the leading run scorers during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022–2023.

Following the announcement of India’s latest T20I squad led by Hardik Pandya, Rana took to his Twitter account and posted a cryptic note.

The note read, “Bad days build better days."
