Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are clashing in match 55 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 tonight at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

It is a crucial game for Punjab as they aim to book a berth in the playoffs. The Shreyas Iyer & Co. dominated the points table since the start. However, three consecutive defeats in their recent games have pushed them to the fourth spot. With a victory in tonight’s clash, they can reach the top spot in the points table once again.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals are on the verge of getting eliminated as one more defeat will push them out of the playoffs race. Axar Patel & Co. have won four games and lost seven out of 11, and take the eighth spot in the points table.

In match 55, DC won the toss and opted to field first. Axar Patel informed that they have made five changes to their playing XI. Nitish Rana and Pathum Nissanka were not part of the encounter.

Notably, both of them have been dropped for the encounter. They played in the previous game against KKR. Abishek Porel and Sahil Parekh have replaced them in the playing XI.

Speaking about playing XI, Patel said at the toss, “There are five changes, so Abhishek Porel, Sahil Parakh is playing, David Miller is playing, Auqib Nabi is playing, and Madhav Tiwari is playing”.

Nissanka has played 10 games in the tournament, in which he scored 278 runs at a strike rate of 158.85. He scored half-centuries in two games but struggled to come up with a consistent show.

Rana failed to make a mark with his batting, having scored 225 runs in nine games at an average of 20.50 and a strike rate of 151.0. He scored two fifties including a highest score of 91, but got out cheaply in many games.
