South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe are the hosts of ICC ODI World Cup 2027.
The Men’s ODI World Cup 2027 is the next big ICC tournament in white-ball format, which will witness a clash between top international teams for the title. ICC ODI World Cup 2027 will be hosted by South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.
Australia are the defending champions of the tournament, who won the previous edition in 2023 in India. They defeated India in the final at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19. The Men-in-Yellow will look forward to defending their title.
The tournament will return to a 14-team format after the previous two editions, where 10 teams locked horns for the title. The last two editions were played in a round-robin format.
As per the format in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027, the 14 teams will be divided into two groups of seven teams each. The top three teams from each group will qualify for the Super Six Round.
The top four teams after the Super Six Round will qualify for the semi-finals, and the winners of the semi-finals will lock horns in the final.
ICC ODI World Cup 2027 to start on October 4

The dates of ICC ODI World Cup 2027 have been revealed. According to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, the tournament will start on October 4, and the final will be played on November 21.
South Africa are expected to host 41 matches, while about 8-10 matches will be played in Zimbabwe. Namibia are likely to host three games.
Eight different venues across South Africa are expected to host the matches, while three venues have been picked in Zimbabwe. Victoria Falls, Harare Sports Club, and Queens in Bulawayo are expected to be picked as venues.
Notably, South Africa will host the ODI World Cup 2027 after a gap of 24 years. Previously, they hosted the ODI World Cup in 2003. The Proteas will also aim to clinch their maiden title in the tournament’s history.
