KKR crushed Pat Cummins-led SRH by eight wickets in a one-sided IPL 2024 final.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), led by Shreyas Iyer this time, lifted their third Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy with a one-sided victory over the Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on May 26. After winning the IPL 2024 title, an old video of Cummins has gone viral on social media in which he could be seen saying KKR’s famous Bengali slogan “Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo.”
It was a perfect ending for Iyer and Gautam Gambhir’s Kolkata as they won the IPL title after 10 years. The Shah Rukh Khan-owned KKR previously won trophies in the 2012 and 2014 seasons.
After being asked to bowl first, Kolkata produced a clinical effort with the ball as they restricted Hyderabad to only 113, the lowest-ever total in an IPL final.
Kolkata bowlers were all over Hyderabad batters as they kept taking wickets at regular intervals. IPL’s most expensive player Mitchell Starc (2/14), all-rounder Andre Russell (3/19), and young speedster Harshit Rana (2/24) produced brilliant performances with the ball as SRH batters failed to turn up for the ultimate clash of the season.
While chasing 114, left-handed batter Venkatesh Iyer hammered 52* (26) as Kolkata chased down the target with 57 balls to spare. With this, Kolkata clinched their third IPL title.

After Cummins-led SRH lost the IPL 2024 final against KKR, an old video of the current SRH skipper went viral on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter). In the video, Cummins is saying “Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo.”
This viral video is from 2014 when Kolkata won their second IPL trophy and Cummins was part of the squad.
