RR opener Jos Buttler fined for breaching code of conduct during KKR vs RR clash
RR's Jos Buttler admitted Level 1 Offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct
Rajasthan Royals' star player, Jos Buttler has been fined 10 percent of the match fee for breaching the code of conduct during KKR vs RR clash. Jos Buttler, who was run out without troubling the scorers was seen aggravated while walking back to the pavilion. While the reason is not certain, it is speculated that Buttler's conduct after getting dismissed landed him in this situation.
On the fourth ball of the second ball, Jos Buttler got hit on the pads and the ball ricochet off it to the covers. While Yashasvi was already halfway down the track, Buttler was skeptical about the single but in the end, he seemed to have sacrificed his wicket for the better. Jaiswal was striking the ball well and Buttler realized the same and gave away his wicket to save Jaiswal.
“Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler has been fined 10 Percent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on May 11. “Mr. Buttler admitted to the Level 1 Offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” the IPL Governing Council said in a statement past midnight.
Level 1 offence under the IPL Code of Conduct usually relate to abuse of cricket equipment or clothing or ground fixtures and fittings; showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by action or verbal abuse; using language that is obscene, offensive or insulting and/or the making of an obscene gesture and engaging in excessive appealing or point or gesture towards the pavilion/dressing room sheds in an aggressive manner, or to behave aggressively or derisively towards either batter, upon the dismissal of a batter.
The race to the top four intensifies as RR look for back-to-back wins in their remaining two fixtures
Rajasthan Royals started off their IPL 2023 campaign on a high with four wins out of their first five games. Looking strong to consolidate its position in the top four, RR then lost the track and lost five games out of the next seven. After the comprehensive win against KKR the other night, RR have kept their playoff hopes alive.
Their next two games are with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) in that order. Although wins in both games will not confirm their berth in the playoffs, they will strengthen their position in the top four. They will have to rely on the results of the other games to have a better net run rate than the rest.
