Led by Salman Agha, Pakistan, in the league stage, were part of group A, where they lost against India but defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman to qualify for the Super Four round. With four points, they grabbed the second spot in the group A points table.
In the Super Four stage, the Men in Green faced a defeat against India in their opening clash as the Suryakumar Yadav-led side chased down a 172-run target with ease. However, Pakistan made a strong comeback against Sri Lanka in their previous game, defeating them by five wickets.

After being asked to bat first, Sri Lanka posted 133/8 with a half-century by Kamindu Mendis (50). Later, Pakistan chased down the target in 18 overs, with crucial unbeaten knocks by Hussain Talat (32*) and Mohammad Nawaz (38*).
On the other hand, Litton Das-led Bangladesh finished at second spot in the group B points table to book a berth in the Super Four round, beating Afghanistan and Hong Kong and losing to Sri Lanka in the group stage.
In their opening game of the Super Four round, Bangladesh outplayed Sri Lanka by four wickets. Saif Hassan (61) and Towhid Hridoy (58) smacked half-centuries to chase down the 169-run target and bring the team home. However, they lost their second game against India by 41 runs, after failing to chase down a 169-run target.
