Pakistan, Afghanistan and UAE to battle in a T20I tri-series in Sharjah ahead of Asia Cup 2025

UAE will host Pakistan and Afghanistan in the T20I Tri-series.
Ahead of Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and United Arab Emirates (UAE) will lock horns in a T20I tri-series in Sharjah. The T20I series will help them to prepare for the tournament, which is scheduled to take place from 9th to 28th September.
The T20I tri-series will commence on August 29 and witness the final on September 7. All three teams will play two games with each other, and the top two teams will battle in the final. Sharjah International Cricket Stadium in Sharjah will host all seven games of the series.
Pakistan were expected to play three T20Is against Afghanistan as per the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) future tours programme. However, that window now has been allotted to this tri-series. Pakistan are currently busy in a white-ball series against the West Indies.

- Aug 29- Afghanistan vs Pakistan, 1st Match, Sharjah Cricket Stadium
- Aug 30- United Arab Emirates vs Pakistan, 2nd Match, Sharjah Cricket Stadium
- Sep 1 – United Arab Emirates vs Afghanistan, 3rd Match, Sharjah Cricket Stadium
- Sep 2- Pakistan vs Afghanistan, 4th Match, Sharjah Cricket Stadium
- Sep 4 – Pakistan vs United Arab Emirates, 5th Match, Sharjah Cricket Stadium,
- Sep 5 – Afghanistan vs United Arab Emirates, 6th Match, Sharjah Cricket Stadium
- Sep 7- TBC vs TBC, Final, Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah
Asia Cup 2025 to commence on September 9 in UAE
Meanwhile, Asia Cup 2025 will start on September 9 in UAE and conclude with the final on September 28. Eight teams are part of the tournament. India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman are part of Group A.
Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong are part of Group B. According to the format, each team will play three matches during the group stage.
Later, the top two teams from both groups will qualify for Super Four round. They will face each other once in the Super Four round. The top two teams in the Super Four round will battle in the final.
