Pakistan are scheduled to clash with the UAE on September 17 in the Asia Cup 2025.
The Pakistan Cricket Team are going to boycott their match against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Asia Cup 2025 over the handshake row, according to reports in Dainik Jagran. Moreover, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi is scheduled to host an emergency meeting shortly.
The Pakistan vs UAE clash of the Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to be played on Wednesday, September 17, at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. However, Pakistan have not sent their players to the ground for the match.
Notably, during the India vs Pakistan clash on Sunday (September 14), Indian players refused to shake hands with Pakistan players after the match. In response, Pakistan skipper Salman Agha did not attend the post-match presentation.

Later, Pakistan lodged an official complaint against match referee Andy Pycroft. Pakistan also threatened to boycott the clash against the UAE if their demands are not met.
However, ICC did not find Pycroft guilty of any wrongdoing in the matter, and no action was taken against him. As a result, Pakistan are planning to boycott the encounter against the UAE.
Pakistan will be eliminated if they boycott their clash against the UAE
Notably, Pakistan will be eliminated from the Asia Cup 2025 if they boycott their clash against the UAE. India hold the top spot in the Group A points table with four points and have qualified for the Super Four round. Pakistan follow them in the second spot with two points, while the UAE grab the third spot with an equal number of points.
Only two teams from Group A will qualify for the Super Four round. Hence, if the Men-in-Green boycott their clash against the UAE, the latter will earn four points and will qualify for the Super Four round alongside India. Oman, who will play one more game in the tournament, are already eliminated after losing both of their games.
