The Pakistan ODI tri-series will be played from October 18 to 31.
The introduction of T20 cricket has changed the dynamics of this sport. It has given many associate nations the opportunity to play at the highest level. But it is also true that the fast-paced T20 format has affected the 50-over format.
But with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 coming up, we will see teams focusing more on the ODI format. That is where a big announcement has been made. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is all set to host a tri-nation ODI series in October 2026.
The ODI tri-series is a totally different prospect to a bilateral series. These events engage fans more, and every game is like a must-win. Fans also like watching different teams and players in action rather than a boring two-team series.
On Wednesday, the PCB announced the schedule of the upcoming ODI tri-series. Notably, the last ODI series among full-member sides was hosted by Pakistan in February 2025 ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy, featuring Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa.
