Pakistan players are wearing pink jerseys instead of their traditional green kits in the ODI tri-series match against England on Sunday, October 25. The initiative aims to raise awareness about breast cancer and highlight the importance of early detection and timely treatment.
The match are currently underway at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, with the two teams using the occasion to support the cause. The fixture is also important for both sides as they look to secure their place in the tri-series final.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dedicated the match to breast cancer awareness as part of its efforts to use cricket as a platform for social causes. The initiative coincides with Pinktober, observed globally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
By wearing specially designed pink jerseys, Pakistan aim to draw attention to the disease and encourage people to prioritise early diagnosis and medical care.
England are also part of this campaign, with players and match officials supporting the initiative. Pink-themed branding and awareness messages are expected to feature during the match, extending the campaign beyond the playing kits.
This is not the first time Pakistan have worn pink jerseys for breast cancer awareness. The team previously donned a pink kit during a T20I against South Africa in October 2025 as part of an awareness campaign.
The initiative reflects a wider trend in cricket, where teams use prominent international fixtures to promote important social causes. Australia’s annual ‘Pink Test’ in Sydney is another well-known example of how cricket is used to promote awareness about cancer and support related initiatives.
What is at stake for Pakistan and England?
Beyond the awareness campaign, the match carries significance in the ODI tri-series. Pakistan will look to continue their strong run and strengthen their position in the race for the final. Meanwhile, England will aim to get their campaign back on track after a difficult start to the tournament.
