Pakistan will kick-of their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign on 6th October in Hyderabad.
Pakistan will kick off their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign on Friday, October 6 in Hyderabad against Qualifier 1 from the ongoing ICC World Cup Qualifiers being played in Zimbabwe right now.
Pakistan had not qualified for the knockout stages of the last edition of the ODI World Cup in 2019, but in the last few years, have a good record in ODI format under the captaincy of Babar Azam and played in the final of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, losing to England in the summit clash.
The Men in Green won the World Cup only once in 1992 in Australia under Imran Khan and played in the knockout stages in the 1996 World Cup, losing to India in the quarterfinals. Played in the final of the 1999 World Cup in England, losing to Australia, and then played in the semi-final in the 2011 World Cup, losing to India in Mohali.
The 2023 men's ODI World Cup will begin on October 5 in Ahmedabad, and matches will be held across ten venues, and culminate in the final - also in Ahmedabad - on November 19. The semi-finals will be held in Mumbai and Kolkata on November 15 and 16.
The 45 league matches and the three knockouts will be played in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune over a span of 46 days. The two semi-finals and the final will all have reserve days.

Pakistan will play their league stage matches at five venues: Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. Its last match will be against England on November 12 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
They will clash against India in the largest cricket stadium in the world in Ahmedabad on October 5.
Earlier Pakistan asked for the locations of their games against Australia and Afghanistan to be switched. They didn't want to play Afghanistan in Chennai because of the opponent's strong spin-bowling lineup. They stated a desire to play in Bangalore against Afghanistan and Chennai versus Australia.
However, the ICC has refused their request for the same and they will play against Afghanistan on spin-friendly Chennai pitch and will clash with Australia on batting-friendly Australia.
In case, Pakistan reaches the semi-final stage of the ICC World Cup 2023, they will play their knockout match in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
