Pakistan Cricket Team’s participation in ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is doubtful due to the ongoing controversy regarding Bangladesh’s removal from the tournament. Refusing Bangladesh’s demand to relocate their matches to Sri Lanka in the tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) replaced them with Scotland in Group C.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), who supported Bangladesh’s demand to shift their games, were not satisfied with ICC’s decision. PCB blamed ICC for having double standards by recalling that they agreed to a similar demand of India during ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
India did not travel to Pakistan in the tournament and all of their matches were scheduled in Dubai. However, ICC did not agree to any last-minute changes in Bangladesh’s schedule in T20 World Cup and maintained that their players do not have any security issues in India.
Unsatisfied with ICC’s move, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has also threatened to boycott T20 World Cup 2026. The PCB is having a conversation with Pakistan government over the matter. Reports have also claimed that Pakistan might boycott their match against India as a mark of protest.

According to a report by ASports, the unveiling ceremony was called off due to unavoidable reasons.
