The Pat Cummins-led Australian Cricket Team are locking horns with the Temba Bavuma-led South Africa in the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25. The thrilling encounter has witnessed amazing bowling performances by both teams. Lord’s Cricket Ground in London is the venue of the summit clash.
Proteas skipper Bavuma won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match. On the back of Kagiso Rabada’s five-wicket haul in the first innings, they bundled out Australia for just 212. However, the defending champions returned with an even better effort with the ball, dismissing the Proteas for just 138 runs.
Skipper Cummins led the pace attack for Australia and helped his side to gain a crucial 74-run lead in the first innings. The right-arm pacer captured a six-wicket haul in the match to script his name in the records books at the Lord’s. Moreover, Cummins (6/28) also clinched the best bowling figures in the ICC WTC finals by breaking New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson’s previous record of 5/31, which he took against the Indian Cricket Team in 2021.
