Blessing Muzarabani under serious trouble! PCB to take strict action against Zimbabwe pacer for ditching PSL for IPL - Reports

Blessing Muzarabani was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman in IPL 2026.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is less than two weeks away and is once again making the headlines. Since its inception in 2016, the schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and PSL have clashed frequently. One major issue that PSL faces due to this situation is the player availability.
The PSL 2026 is expected to run from March 26 to May 3 after Pakistan National Cricket Team’s tour to Bangladesh ends. Ahead of the PSL 2026, yet again a player opted out of the league, choosing the IPL over Pakistan’s Premier Cricket competition. Blessing Muzarabani, who was set to play for Islamabad United, joined Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for IPL 2026
PCB to take legal action against Blessing Muzaranbani

With him out of PSL, Blessing Muzarabani is likely to face legal action from the PSL with PCB taking the legal route against Zimbabwe international for his breach of contract, as per the reports in Geo Super.
Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani was bought by three-time champions Islamabad United for 11 million rupees to play in PSL 11 as replacement for West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph.
Muzarabani, however, recently chose to join KKR ahead of the PSL’s Islamabad United as a replacement for Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman. Rahman was released by three-time IPL champions on the orders of BCCI in January.
Muzarabani is coming after a remarkable performance at the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup. He played a key role as Zimbabwe topped their group and qualified for the Super Eight. The fast bowler picked 13 wickets from the six matches, finishing one wicket behind the leading wicket-taker.
This is the second consecutive season when a PSL contracted player has opted to join an IPL team. Last season, South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch was initially drafted by Peshawar Zalmi as a Diamond Pick. However, he later opted to join Mumbai Indians as an injury replacement. Bosch’s withdrawal from the PSL had resulted in a one-season ban on the South African.
