PCB probes Mohammad Nawaz as uncertainty grows over his cricket future.

Mohammad Nawaz has recently come under scrutiny amid the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2026. He is a key all-rounder for Pakistan in white-ball cricket.

The 32-year-old has been part of the team for many years. He has played important roles with both bat and ball in limited-overs matches. His experience makes him a valuable option, especially in T20 cricket.

Nawaz has played 6 Tests, 44 ODIs, and 97 T20Is for Pakistan. He has taken 166 wickets and scored 1593 runs in international cricket. He is known for his left-arm spin bowling and calm batting under pressure. His performances have helped Pakistan in many close games.

Currently, Nawaz is active in PSL 2026, where he represents Multan Sultans. He has picked up 6 wickets and scored 36 runs in 8 games so far. He continues to be part of the playing XI as the team pushes for another strong campaign.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now started an investigation against Mohammad Nawaz. This incident occurred after a positive result in the mandatory test conducted earlier this year during the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

“The International Cricket Council (ICC) has informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about this matter, and PCB has begun the due process. The results of this process will be communicated to the ICC today”, a PCB spokesperson reported to ESPNcricinfo.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) informed the PCB about the result. After that, the PCB began their official process. A PCB spokesperson confirmed that the board is following due procedure. The outcome of the investigation will be shared with the ICC soon.

Despite the ongoing investigation, Nawaz is still playing in the Pakistan Super League. He recently bowled three overs for Multan Sultans in Karachi. The board has not yet stopped him from playing in the tournament.

However, the situation has already affected his plans outside Pakistan. Nawaz was set to join Surrey for the T20 Blast in England. He had even received a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the PCB. But the deal has now been cancelled. Surrey will no longer sign him for the upcoming season.

The PCB is also reviewing his future with the national team and in franchise leagues. A final decision will depend on the investigation results.

Is Mohammad Nawaz still playing in PSL?

Yes, he is still playing for Multan Sultans.

Will Nawaz play for Surrey in the T20 Blast?
